‘anam creative: music collab’ album out now

anam creative: music collab commissioned a collective of six underrepresented, emerging musicians and producers to collaborate over five months with the support of funding from Youth Music.

The collective includes naafi, who explores pop, experimental, and electronic genres; D0nc4n, a Glasgow-based producer and artist with a genre-fluid approach; Mairi Sutherland, a singer-songwriter known for her immersive blend of musical and visual storytelling; Finn McLean, a musician with a broad musical background and a focus on composition and guitar; Grace Stewart-Skinner, a harp player and composer from the Highlands infusing traditional Scottish music with contemporary elements; and Marcus Frame, a 22-year-old musician and producer with eclectic tastes, primarily a bass/guitar player. Together, the group pushed creative boundaries, exploring new sonic landscapes with the support of anam creative. Through tight deadlines, experimentation, reflection and skill-sharing, the collective created a new compilation album merging together genres.

"I have loved the reflection sessions as well, having a consistent space to just reflect and listen to everyones work has been really special to me."

"I feel that I'm much more connected now with the music and art scene in Glasgow. It's been wonderful to be support financially whilst also learning and growing as an artist."

"I've found the project to be an absolute delight and couldn't be more thankful for having been a part of it."

"I knew that this would have a positive impact on my practice, however the real benefit has far exceeded my expectations."
